Would definitely buy this one again. This is a very nice player, clear picture, and easily accessed functions. Has a nice-sized viewing screen also.
It's so rare today to find good customer service from an electronics company. I called today to make sure it got there, again, got a real live person's voicemail, left a message thinking I would have to call again in a few days, and a few hours later, a very nice lady called me. My player was on back order but she said if I wanted to wait a few more days she'd send me a newer version with a bigger screen for free. Bought this dvd player a little less than a year ago. I'm an LG fan. I called LG and a real person actually answered the phone. A few weeks ago it quit on me. Instructed me to send it back with $45 since it was out of warranty and they would replace the whole machine for free and send me a new one.
I assumed portable meant you could use it anywhere. LG tech support says this unit was designed to be used at home, not in a car. Why advertise it as portable then. This DVD player was purchased to use in our vehicle on long trips. Evidently not.If you want a truly portable device, I would look elsewhere. But if you want to use this DVD Player in a vehicle, the volume is not loud enough to hear oven minor background noise. The picture is great. Even with headphones attached to the unit, audio is barely audible.
almost perfect product.good image; stable picture.all functions work well; only drawback is the sound quality.high quality ear buds do improve the rather "tinny" effect I hear.otherwise, a good deal.I am enjoying the product and its portability.
You cannot use anything but expensive noise-reduction headphones on an aircraft. I bought the LG DP781 Portable DVD Player in July 2008, and had high hopes after all the good reviews. If there are, buy them, and not this machine.I am returning it for this reason. You cannot hear a thing through regular headphones.Also, the unit does not respond well to the set top controls, and you must use the remote constantly.I do not know if there are DVD players out there with more volume level. I am disappointed with the unit. The picture is not bright or pleasing and worst of all the volume level is very poor.
